& Yet Studio Recording Day 1
Today’s our first day in the recording studio with Mat Bainton. We’re off to a good start with drum tracks to Talkeenta and & Yet. This is the time to be very particular about every note, every drum hit, every everything. We’ll be up to this for awhile, so we’re getting acquainted with the whole situation.

A Bud Has Bloomed EP
This coming weekend represents a milestone in the development of & Yet’s prowess. Dane, Nathaniel and Jonathan will be entering the recording studio to build the rhythmic foundation of our introductory six-song EP: A Bud Has Bloomed.
Some may say we’re long overdo. Dane Ueland’s song-writing has been begging for quality recording for many years and our current orchestration has been in development for over a year. But & Yet has continued to bide its time. This is not something we take lightly. These songs and the concept of this record have grown and evolved towards maturity for as long as necessary and never has it crossed a mind to record pre-mature songs poorly just to have a product in hand. No, the time has come because the moment is right.
A Bud Has Bloomed will feature:
Talkeetna
The Spins
A Rat in the Rafters
& Yet
Into The Teeth
A Bud Has Bloomed
(not necessarily in that order)
We are eager to cement the rhythmic sections of these songs this week and will cut no corners in the layering of the complex parts that define & Yet’s intimate delicacy and dynamic intensity. Though we’re not yet sure on our release date, we’ll be thrilled to have a record to offer you, the fan, early next year.

This event displays a close knit group in the Seattle Music scene. Local musicians with long-established ties share a stage at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Red Means Go is made up of Listening to Skyler melt face, Hearing Jaz try to scream, Being impressed/ashamed in Tom’s knowledge of Paramore, Laughing at Jonny trying not to be a puppy, Markus.
&Yet is melodic, carefully crafted stories infused with string-led dynamics and intimate vocal harmonies.
Sebastian and the Deep Blue are dance pop fused with art pop fused with ginger ale.
Nick Foster – Compelling folk and country songwriting dressed up like a rock band. Sometimes quiet and intimate, sometimes driving with attitude, always sincere and emotive.

Y La Bamba, Paper Bird, & Yet: October 25th at the Crocodile
We have the honor to share a bill with Portland’s Y La Bamba and Denver’s Paper Bird on Thursday, October 25th at The Crocodile.
If you haven’t yet heard of Y La Bamba, then SHAME ON YOU! because they’re one of the Pacific Northwest’s most valuable gems in the music scene of the last two years and this year’s album “Court the Storm” is a must-have if you happen to be proud of your eclectic music collection.
Eventful.com: “With their new album, ‘Court the Storm’, Portland OR’s Y La Bamba return with a haunting second full-length of delicately crafted art folk. ‘The voice is most effective when it’s indistinguishable from the emotion of the lyric as well as the drama of the rhythm and chords’ says NPR’s Felix Contreras when discussing Y La Bamba’s stunning front-woman, adding ‘…Luz Elena Mendoza stands very near the front of this pack.’ On ‘Court the Storm’, these ethereal vocals combine with bittersweet melodies and thrumming Latin-inspired rhythms to form an indie pop masterpiece.”

Paper Bird’s live performances showcase the diversity and good-time vibe of the group while providing a fresh and unique take on a sound that has a tendency to bring the listener back to a different era. Young in age but timeless in spirit, Paper Bird continually captures the hearts of new listeners and long-time fans. Their rare and beautiful approach to music led them to be featured on NPR’s All Things Considered and were voted in the Top 10 Best Underground Bands by the Denver Post three years in a row, as well as being 5280’s Top of the Town 2009 “Top Local Band” in Denver, CO.
And then there’s us:
& Yet has grand plans to turn our focus inward for the remainder of the year, to get into the recording studio and create for you a six-track EP, in time for release at the top of 2013. This is our last show on the books for awhile until we have that goal, which has been in development for some time, accomplished.

& Yet Photo-shoot
This past weekend we fed our egos with an awesome photo-shoot. To begin, the we all got together for a band shopping spree at Buffalo Exchange, Goodwill, and Value Village. Javvy and Caroline played the roles of fashion consultant, while Jonathan tried to organize all the thrift-store finds into a unified photo composition in his mind. Not only do the photos look great, but we’re all able to dress a little better for the experience. With the help of photographers Brandon Adams and Michael Marchesini, we clambered into the camera frames and sought to present ourselves artistically and professionally. Here are a few of our most flattering shots.

Wednesday, October 10th: Cloud Person, & Yet, English Gardens, and Robust Worlds play the Comet Tavern in Seattle, WA.
“Cloud Person started as a moniker that Pete Jordan used for lofi demo recordings.
After the demise of his previous rock band, Pete decided to rerecord some of the demos and release them as an EP with no game plan in mind. Just for the hell of it.
He enlisted the services of Betsy Johnson(Violin) and Cameron Arneson(Bass), both of whom he ended up starting Cloud Person the band with, along with Matt Zook(Clarinet) and Justin Neff (Native American Flute) for finishing touches to the mostly recorded EP and released it as ‘Anchors in the Sun’ in March of this year.” We’ve played with them on a few occasions and are consistently enthralled.
English Gardens and Robust Worlds are sure to come out ready to impress. We are certainly looking forward to their sets. It’s gonna be a good ole’ Wednesday night at the Comet. Come out and have a drink, listen to some tunes, and remember that your love of Seattle is based solely on the fact that you can go to a bar in the middle of the week and see a lineup of indie bands that no one’s ever heard of. How hip are you?
