Sunday 9/23 at the Crocodile

This coming Sunday, September 23rd Friends and Family, Let’s Get Lost, The Hoot Hoots and & Yet perform at The Crocodile in Seattle, WA.

This will be the album release show for Let’s Get Lost‘s album “House of Cards” (click here to listen to a sample). Described as ‘vintage pop,’ Let’s get lost is an amalgamation of catchy melody and pulsing rhythm. The release of “House of Cards” is sure to appeal to your pop sensibilities. You’ll want a copy as bad as I do.

Friends and Family and The Hoot Hoots are sure to satisfy as well. I saw Friends and Family play at the Tractor some months back. Their stage presence was inspiring and their energy contagious. I was on a date, so I tried to play it cool and act like I wasn’t that into it. You know, to impress the girl with my apathy towards everything. Unfortunately, I ended up making a fool of myself on the dance floor and never saw that woman again.

“Power pop quartet The Hoot Hoots know how to have fun, and their newest release Appetite for Distraction proves it. Their second full-length album of the year is rife with singsong choruses, idyllic imagery and enough peppy riffing to keep listeners feeling fuzzy long after the last track has finished.”
– The Deli Seattle Magazine

Also, in my impressively level-headed and unbiased opinion, & Yet will come out ready to impress. The self actualization of this project is right around the corner as our delicate and dramatic pieces strive to send shivers down your spine with poignant depth and harmonic intricacy.

SSG Music promotes TONIGHT’s show at the Triple Door, Seattle

We’ve received a very kind promotional write-up on ssgmusic.com regarding our show with Shannon Stephens at the Triple Door tonight in Seattle.

“J. Wong is presenting the second of two singer/songwriter showcases tonight, this time with the lovely Shannon Stephens, a Seattle favorite who released her fantastic third album, Pull It Together, this year, which is a combination of nearly two decades worth of experiences and musical adventurism – leading her to a fuller sound. Pull It Together is said to “represents a leap in confidence and songcraft for Stephens. Greater maturity has brought a both a looser, louder style and a more sharply focused worldview.“ With her on stage will be & Yet, a folk-experimental band combining careful harmonies and string-led deliveries. Tomo Nakayama (of Grand Hallway, Gold Leaves) will also take the stage with solo work of his own, and of course, J. Wong, will grace the stage as well. The show is a steal as a singer/songwriter showcase for only $8 and gives you a glimpse into some of the best our local music scene has to offer.”

Follow the link to whet your pallet with Shannon Stephens’ Video “Care For You” and don’t miss tonight’s show.
